Service Project Support
Community Service in the Dominican Republic
Although parents try to teach their children that it is better to give than to receive, the world bombards young people with messages that communicate the opposite. At Caribbean Mountain Academy, our residential Christian Boarding School, we give teens the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than themselves.
Students take part in daily community service projects for the Dominican people in the local communities. Through these projects, students gain a sense of purpose and an understanding of what it means to be selfless. Our goal is for students to see that serving others also brings true joy.
Visiting mission teams come to Caribbean Mountain Academy from all over the country, voluntarily giving their time and resources to serve those in need. As they work alongside our students in the local communities, students see firsthand the joy that comes from sacrificial service. After teams leave, students feel a renewed motivation to complete projects that they started together with a team.
Our desire is that each service project would have both an immediate and long-term impact. While meeting an immediate physical need of a Dominican family or community is important, we also want to create lasting change in the surrounding communities by promoting improvements in education, healthcare, and more. In addition, we believe each service project will play a role in the lasting change of our students, showing them the value of serving and loving others.
Service Project Supplies
Contribute any amount towards service project supplies. Your donation helps the Dominican people and allows us to teach our students how to serve.
We couldn’t do what we do without the men and women who work alongside our Caribbean Mountain Academy students. Most mission team members are sacrificing vacation time and family time as they take a step of faith outside their comfort zone. Not all of us can go, but we can all be part of their team by standing behind them in financial support of their week-long commitment to our students and the Dominican people.
